Day 64 — Expanding Her Territory

Aurora’s adventure today was deciding that the back yard — all of it — is part of her domain.

She’s been pretty bold for a while about wandering all over the bricks and going back to the lemon tree to sniff and chew.

Day 64 — Exploring the Backyard

This evening, Aurora took the path between the bushes and went out to the Outback!

Day 64 — Aurora In the Way Outback

Of course I went with her, looked ahead to make sure that there were no evil predators lurking around, and generally did nervous parental things.  For her part, Aurora was fearless and happy.

Day 50 — Establishing Favorites

Our 7-week-old girl has been inundated with play toys and  unleashed to roam the kitchen.  She approves.

She romps and plays, but her favorite discovery is the communal dog pile in the Hide-a-Pet under the butcher block.

She has loved being under the towel in the whelping box, but the butcher block gives her a real roof, apparently!

I took her outside with the pack today. It was warm enough that she and Mom could get comfortable on the bricks and nibble on their favorite foods.

The mid-afternoon snack was very appreciated by MUNI. I had tried to tempt her with some canned puppy food, but she held out for Mom.

Day 50 – Dining Al Fresco

Our vet was surprised last week that Zenith continued to let MUNI — and her full set of sharp teeth — continue to nurse. Apparently MUNI has learned how to shield Mom with her tongue.  We are not embarrassed by the outdoor milk bar. Really.

The multiple sources of calories seem to suit MUNI, though. She’s up to 3 pounds 8.8 ounces as she celebrates her 7th week birthday.

Day 45 — Play and Seeing the Sun

MUNI’s days start out with play and food around 5:30 that lasts to 6:30. Then we crash. Geoffrey starts another round of play about 8 which lasts until he goes to work. Then when Galen gets back from delivering Geoffrey to BART, we have another play session. Like this one…

Today was warm and sunny, so I set the tripod up and took a few photos with MUNI.

Overall the outdoor exploration was educating. MUNI isn’t really sure what to do with the expanse, though!

After the afternoon of sun and mostly relaxation, we had our final dinner at home on the TV bed before heading off to Seattle for two days.

No picture or story for two days… next up will be Day 48!

Day 38 — An Outdoor Adventure

Halloween is beautiful and sunny.

So, MUNI and I had an outdoor adventure. I set up the tripod and used the remote control to come up with several shots where I looked good reflected in MUNI’s beauty. I edited and posted the best shot without waiting for this blog. Sorry!

Day 38 – Posing in the Backyard

Not too much else going on in the pack. The humans were away a lot. So, despite the fine weather, most of the dog day was spent sleeping. Between a  meeting I had at the office and then having to go out and see costumed people before dark, the girls were virtually neglected!

We all did spend time together watching TV after dinner. MUNI fits right in, and snuggles on the bed.
